IASC: International Accounting Standards Committee
De IASC is opgericht in 1973 door zes nationale organisaties voor accountants om afspraken te maken over internationale accounting standaarden (IAS). Deze afspraken hadden na de acceptatie door de IOSCO (beurscommissies) een breder kader dan alleen accountants nodig. Daarom is toen de IASB opgericht.
